Besydo helps adults connect at public venues. Your login email and declared age are not shown to other people. Chats are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted.
What we use
We store your account identifier, profile, preferences, visits, messages, relationships, reports and resized pictures. Signed-in device records contain a coarse browser/device label and activity times, not device coordinates. Email authentication is handled by Supabase. Public sign-in uses secret-keyed daily network and email rate-limit pseudonyms to reduce abuse; a shared IP never identifies an account. These limit records are purged on scheduled cleanup. Cloudflare hosts app records and private image storage. This independent version uses Besydo email authentication.
Location and camera
Location is requested when searching or validating a physical check-in. Google receives a rounded search location and venue category. Precise device coordinates are checked transiently and are not saved in Besydo’s app database. To limit implausibly rapid venue changes, only the last signed public business centre is retained per account for a 15-minute check window; expired records are removed on later lookup or scheduled cleanup. This is not a GPS movement trail. Venue identifiers and visit details are saved. Camera QR frames stay on your device. Choosing a picture grants access to that selected file, not your entire library. We resize pictures and remove metadata; originals are not stored.
Your choices
Check-ins begin hidden. Discoverable permits new Hellos and venue discovery. Online status, sharing a place with friends, and appearing in previews are separate choices. Friend place sharing starts off and can be limited to selected friends. Story audiences are friends, your publishing venue, or both. Accepted chats remain available after hiding or checkout; blocking stops access.
Retention and deletion
Stories stop being viewable at 24 hours. Replaced and expired story files are cleaned on subsequent service activity; byte deletion may be deferred during outages. Profiles, saved chats and profile pictures remain until removed. Deleting a message for yourself hides it from your view; deleting your own message for both removes it from both histories. Recipients may already have copied it. Revoked-device records are retained until account deletion to prevent revoked sessions returning. Other account security records and service logs may be retained by infrastructure providers according to their settings. No promise of immediate backup erasure is made.
App data deletion removes Besydo records and images, including shared conversations. It does not remove your email login. Full account deletion, when configured, removes that login too. The deletion page clearly shows which operation is available. Reports can include the selected message text, content identifier and your explanation; only authorized moderators can review them. We do not copy reported image bytes into report records.
Access and contact
Download your app data under Me → Account. It excludes other people’s private account data and image files. For privacy requests: support@besydo.com
